Tend my Lambs

"Tend my Lambs" is a community project aimed at using the expertise at our disposal to serve the community while using music as the powerful introductory tool. The title "Tend my Lambs" was coined from the gospel of John Chapter 21. Here are a few community out-reach projected ideas:-
1. You and you drugs (Health Awareness) - [Thabitha Matsebatlela].
This health awareness project will be aimed at educating the community about the pros and cons of drugs, to educate them the importance of medicine, its dangers, what they should know in order to take care of their health, and the community will have the opportunity to ask questions related to their health concerns. Some prize give aways will be arranged as well and music will be dished out by the choir at will. We might also arrange some vital signs screening procedures like weight scale, heights, blood glucose, blood pressure, etc.
2. You are what you eat (Human Nutrition) - [Elizabeth Mahada].
This project will aim at reaching out to the people about what they need to know about their food and how they should take care of their bodies. People of all ages will be adviced of the impact of malnutrition and how to avoid it and the best way to take of the newborns and tend their needs. Some prize give aways will be arranged as well and music will be dished out by the choir at will. We might also arrange some vital signs screening procedures like weight scale, heights, blood glucose, blood pressure, etc.
3. Read with me (Book Reading) - [Emmanuel Matsebatlela].
This project aims at encouraging young people and kids to read books and also educate parents on iportance of encouraging their children to read. Some books will be arranged and the choir will sing the story-lines as the books unfold. Books prizes and related give-aways will be arranged and childrens will received a ton of materials to learn from. Child development and education will be on the table as well.
4. Technology & You (Computer Literacy) - [Peter Matsebatlela].
This project will aim at showing the community the importance of getting acclimitized to the growing hi-tech world and to know what computers and internet can do for them. Some computer skills will be outlined, some hands-on computer sessions might be possible and some give-aways will be arranged as well. The choir will be at hand to liven-up the day.
5. Let us sing (Music Appreciation) - [Thabe Matsebatlela].
Some music experts will be invited to share their enjoyment of music and the choir will demonstrate all the multi-facet colors of music with the aim of encouraging the community to participate in musical activities. Although choral music will be the focus point, other genre of music will be higlighted and analyzed. this will be a day of fun with other choirs being invited to particiate. some talents may be uncovered on the day.
